Newsletter 2018

2017 saw a very busy year for Transport Enterprises Limited. We produced bodies for a large number of blue chip companies across the United Kingdom, with customers coming back to us year after year. We focus on producing the best work for our clients, and pride ourselves on our customer service throughout the build, and aftersales too. We have highly experienced people working within our Company, that help to attain the high standards that our customers require, and will return to us for future builds.

Due to the amount of orders, we have expanded our premises to enable us to accommodate the requests that we receive, with all of our premises having 24 hour manned security in secure compounds.

Apprentice scheme

We are a strong believer in bringing on the Apprenticeship Programme. We have built up a great working relationship with both Leicester College and Coventry College, who work side by side with us in providing support to our apprentices. We currently have nine apprentices training at our sites, all at different levels of their schemes – we currently have people that are working on welding/fabrication, auto electrician and Type Approval/Homologation administration. They work along side our experienced teams, and also attend college. They have regular assessments from their respective colleges to ensure that they are learning the relevant skills, and attaining the levels that are required from the scheme. Once they have come to the end of their apprenticeship with us, we work together to keep their skills inhouse.

ISO 9001 2015

We have retained our NQA ISO 9001 2015 accreditation again in 2017. This scheme ensures that procedures are followed, and any issues are reported, assessed and resolved.

Type Approval

We are now Type Approved for the new Scania N333 build, and also for Incomplete Centre Axle trailers (both tandem and triaxle), along with all other types of build.

Football team sponsorship

We also have the honour of sponsoring a local football team, which is run by one of our members of staff, Dean. Below is a report directly from the club, informing us of their achievements since the start of our sponsorship:

“Four years ago I decided to start an U11’s 9 aside football team at St Andrews football club Canal Street Aylestone, Leicester

Since the start, Transport Enterprises agreed to sponsor the team and provide the team with a very smart sponsored team kit. Mark Neal, MD at Transport Enterprises, has continued to sponsor the team over the last four years with them now playing in the Mick Boulter Division C of the Leicester and District Sunday league and now a very grown up U15 side.

Having moved up a division from last season the U15’s are currently 6th place in division C with 5 games left to play. They have played 13 won 5 lost 6 and drawn 2.

Since sponsoring the U11’s side four years ago, Mark Neal has also very generously sponsored the ground at which 7 junior teams play, ranging from ages U6’s up to the U15’s team that they personally sponsor and also a successful senior team.

This sponsorship for the club provided us with a much needed new perimeter fence and gates needed to keep the clubs ground up to an FA standard, not only to allow the senior side to play at a high standard, but to also give the junior sides a safe and secure place for them to play football.

Transport Enterprises also recently provided the club with a new supporters shelter, providing the supporters somewhere dry to stand and watch the seniors and juniors play football.

With all this sponsorship the ground was re-named “The Transport Enterprise Arena”.

St Andrews would like to thank Mark Neal and Transport Enterprises for their continued sponsorship and support over the last four years and I look forward to letting you know how the U15’s finish the season and which players receive the various awards at the presentation night”

First Mercedes Actros Approval for Transport Enterprises.

We believe Transport Enterprises to be the first independent bodybuilder in the UK to successfully achieve completed vehicle approval on the new Mercedes Actros.

The vehicle was commissioned by a local hire company, the leading contract hire and leasing company.

Running on BPW axles and incorporating a WABCO braking system, the trailer approval was completed has an extension to Transport Enterprises already existing approval to include Tandem Drawbar applications. The overall approval is constructed of several individual approvals that cover all of the required regulations including Lighting, spray suppression, lateral and rear protection along with coupling and statutory plates.

The Mercedes Actros received a completely new approval and also had to meet the criteria set by the regulations. The inspection was carried out by the VCA and approval took less than a week to be completed.

The body work boasts a radius front and roofline flowing smoothly in line with the Actros cab. Centrally roof mounted cargo control and non-slip flooring offer excellent load control with the anodise aluminium and galvanised sub frame offering the ultimate in weather protection.

The overall combination has an impressive loadable deck area of over 35 square meters and is illuminated by LED lighting operated from the cab. External LED lighting and conspicuity markings finish and frame the striking Red and Blue colours chosen by the customer.
